Local Learning

WKID Disney Radio

The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum in Poughkeepsie, NY is the perfect place for a date this Valentine’s Day.   Kids of all ages can play and learn together in a creative environment.  Little Sprouts Farm is for us wee ones (3 and under), while the WKID Disney Radio Station is for kids of all ages!  With two floors of hands on exhibits, it is sure to be fun for the whole family!

(Even though I really enjoyed the exhibits, I had the most fun meeting new friends.  The museum offers playgroups and programs, check out their website for more information. www.mhcm.org)

Did you know that you can become a member and get in FREE for a year?  Mama and I chose the Museum Traveler membership.  That way we can visit Mid-Hudson and over 100 other children’s museums nationwide!

A Note From Mama:

Leave the stroller in the car.  The two-floor building does not have an elevator and there is more room in the exhibits without them!
Brown bag it.  There are tables available for a quick snack or a relaxing lunch, whatever you have time for.  It will help you get the most out of your admission price!
And most importantly – BRING YOUR CAMERA!

Mama Waddled, I was Swaddled

Waddle n Swaddle

I think it is only appropriate to start my blog journey with an introduction to a local treasure. Waddle n Swaddle is a Mama and Baby boutique that has it all. From maternity classes to fashion, this one stop shop has everything a Mama-to-be needs.  And once the bundle of joy arrives, Waddle n Swaddle will continue to help you during this exciting, and stressful, time!  It has breastfeeding support and equipment, organic blankets and clothing, and local, top of the line products to fulfill baby’s every need.  (Don’t forget to create a registry for showers, birthdays and holidays!)

So what are you waiting for?   There is a Waddle n Swaddle location open every day of the week (so no one is left without their nursing tank, carrier or bottom balm)!   Hope to see you there!
